At Makaira Boats we are a passionate team of aluminium boat builders. Our aim is to build the best quality aluminium boats on the market.
About
Makaira boats is based a few hours north of Auckland in the game fishing capital of New Zealand, the Bay of Islands. We are very passionate about what we do, always looking to improve and streamline our building methods to maximise the functionality of our boats. We will custom build your boat to suit your needs; be it a dedicated sport-fishing machine, a custom dive boat or a family weekender.

The Makaira Way
- All Hulls are designed using naval architecture software.
- With a full weight study done on the boat before it is built to ensure the best sea keeping in all seas
- Fully welded full length girders and inter-coastal frames
- Multiple captive buoyancy chambers (we leave all frames and girders intact)
- 8mm hull standard
- Limited Lifetime hull warranty (10 year transferable)
- All aspects of a boat build are completed in house from CNC cutting of the plate at fabrication right through to paint, electrical fit out and upholstery
- Option of “Survey/Build”
